Womb

Live-to-camera (2019)

Expanding upon the installation Heritage - The Essence of Now, Lisa worked with photographer Nadja Ellinger, capturing a performance portraying the womb as our first home.

Forming an abstract womb is a skin-matching sheer fabric sculpture, in which Lisa performs the live-to-camera work.  Red threads weave their way through the fabric as blood veins, rounding the concept of birth and existence. Dried bits of mango create points of reference, as though names on a family tree. In order to prolong the scent in the room, the perfume is sprayed on the fabric.

The fabric sculpture was exhibited as a part of the installation at Royal College of Art RCAShow 2019
